First official BBC Doctor Who photo of the Doctor with his new companion

Although fans had recently seen Doctor Who set photos revealing some new clothes for the Doctor and the first glimpses of his new companion, the BBC has graciously given us our first official photo of both the Doctor (Matt Smith) and his new companion Clara (Jenna-Louis Coleman). (We are still waiting on official confirmation that Jenna's name will be Clara on the show.)

"We caught up with Matt Smith who told us, ‘It [filming on the new series] is going well. Jenna brings a really different energy to the show – one which I think is very interesting.’

Shooting is well-underway for the Doctor’s latest adventures and the second read-through featuring Jenna-Louise Coleman as the new companion took place earlier this week at the BBC’s Roath Lock Studios."
