Doctor Who fans support Matt Smith in Olympic torch relay

This morning, British actor Matt Smith who plays 'the Doctor' on the sci-fi series Doctor Who completed his leg of the Olympic torch relay through Cardiff. Before the relay Matt Smith was interviewed by the BBC where he stated that, "it is a great privilege to be involved," and "it's one of those rare sort of opportunities that have nothing to do with me and everything to do with the fact that I played the Doctor on Doctor Who." He goes on to say that running the flame will be an experience that he will remember for the rest of his life.

When I reported that Matt Smith will carry the Olympic torch I had mentioned how the BBC would be streaming it LIVE via their website. I want to apologize to any of my readers who stayed up to watch the LIVE feed since it turned out that the BBC had completely missed Matt's leg of the torch relay in their feed. It was a horrible shock to myself and many viewers waiting to see him with the torch when the third runner suddenly appeared in the feed and we all realized that the BBC had messed up. 

All the same, fans are supporting Matt in this tremendous honor and are incredibly happy for him. At the end of his run, Matt passed the flame on to Llio Roberts who is a 14-year-old swimmer and ranked top 3 for her age in Wales at the 100m freestyle.
