Doctor Who Movie - Rumor or Truth?
Well, it's that time again! Time for another Doctor Who movie rumor! Whispers of a Doctor Who movie have come and gone many times over the years and they are inevitably always shot down. Will this newest rumor be able to survive and become truth or will it wither away and be forgotten like the rumors before it?
Director David Yates, most notable for directing the last four Harry Potter films, is said to be working with the BBC to create a full motion picture for Doctor Who. This news may excite people as Yates did amazing work with the Potter films but they shouldn't jump up and down just yet. Yates has no plans on using any Doctors or continuity from the television series. That's right. All continuity will be broken and there is no chance that any of the previous Doctors or the current 11th Doctor played by Matt Smith will make an appearance in this film.
To make things even more confusing, certain people at the BBC are denying that there is a chance of a Doctor Who movie while others are not.
BBC executive Edward Russell tweeted:

"It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena."The news of a Doctor Who "reboot movie" might scare many fans. With just cause. There is the possibility that this movie will run side by side with the still running show and create tension between the two. Doctor Who fans (also known as Whovians) may not be as great in number to that of Harry Potter for example, but they are extremely dedicated and they may not accept this movie with open arms.
"The notion of the time-travelling Time Lord is such a strong one, because you can express story and drama in any dimension or time," Yates said.
Yates made clear that his movie adaptation would not follow on from the current TV series, but would take a completely fresh approach to the material.
"Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch," he said.

Dr Who is to be taken to the big screen by Harry Potter director David Yates.Confused? So is everybody else. So what do you think? Is there any chance that this could be the one rumor to become true? And if so, how do you feel about the possible changes to the Doctor and continuity?
