Barney Stinson's "The Ewok Line"
On the last episode of How I Met Your Mother, Barney Stinson (portrayed by Neil Patrick Harris) shared with the audience one of the best explanations of 'The Great Ewok Divide'. This is of course referring to the small furry race of being from the Star Wars series introduced in Return of the Jedi. 'The Great Ewok Divide' is the separation of people who love the Ewoks from those who can't stand them.
Barney called this The Ewok Line. This showed us that anyone born before May 25, 1973, was old enough when Return of the Jedi was first released to see them as an obvious attempt to please children in a cute and cuddly way and there cannot stand them. Anyone born after that date will love them, as the Ewoks remind them of cute teddy bears.
This is a great explanation of The Great Ewok Divide. However, Barney goes one step further into greatness and creates an entire PowerPoint presentation that takes you through the Ewok culture. You can see the PowerPoint (along with the Ewok's Yub Nub song) here:
