RBS's Quick Review - Alphas

Alphas sets out into familiar waters that we have seen in recent shows but tries to take its own route. The show focuses on a group of people known as Alphas, which are people who have special abilities. This small group, with varying skills, is being used as a special ops team to track down other people with such abilities. It has the feel of a cop show with the flair of a sci-fi show which is quite interesting. The show has aired two episodes thus far and I must say that for the time being it has my interests peaked. I like the new spin on the ‘powers’ show and am glad to see that there is a little more structure than ‘random people get together’. Though she show is early on and most characters aren’t that complex there are one or two characters that are starting to branch out and develop which is nice. The group chemistry is fun to watch and many of the laughs come from the bluntness of an autistic character which makes you ask yourself if you really should be laughing. But then you laugh anyway because hey, it was funny. The show displays potential as long as the characters develop and the stories stay strong. I recommend checking it out if you are looking for a new fun show to watch.
